Why are my Time Controls not working?

Net Nanny 6.5 • 1 August 2008

This article refers to an older version of this product.

When Time Restrictions block Internet Access during undesignated times it's due to the fact that when Net Nanny was installed, for unknown reasons, the installation could not detect your computer's time zone, and defaulted to GMT (Greenwhich Mean Time.)

UPDATE: The latest update (released on Thursday June 15, 2006) has a time zone feature that resolves this bug. This update includes a new Time Zone feature in the ContentWatch menu.

To find this new feature (first of all you need to update your version to version 5.6.3) right-click the Net Nanny icon, left-click check for updates. When the update process is complete you must reboot your computer for the update to take effect.

After the Reboot log in to the Net Nanny Admin Tools. Click Tools/Time Zone or click on Time Controls and select your Time Zone there.

If you have previously adjusted your Time Restrictions to reflect GMT (Greenwhich Mean Time) please adjust them back to reflect your time zone.
