Not Recording Chats

You can fix this problem by doing a Software Update.

1. Go to your Chat Monitor settings, either by clicking on the icon (Visible Mode), or using your Hot Key combination (Stealth Mode).
2. Click on the "File" menu and go to "Update Software"
3. Go through the Update Wizard

Reboot your computer after the update to make sure the changes take effect.

If this doesn't fix the problem, you will need to uninstall and reinstall Chat Monitor.

It is a good idea to do a Windows Update and make sure you have installed all the critical updates before you reinstall. You can do this by going to the Start Menu on your computer and choosing "Windows Update".

Then, turn off all programs on your computer, including anti-virus software, all chat clients, and any other Net Nanny products. Make sure you actually exit out of the chat clients (not just log out). Ensure that you are logged on to the administrator account on your computer (if you are using Windows 2000 or XP). Chat Monitor will load up automatically under each user's Windows Account (it does not need to be installed under each account).

Finally, reinstall Chat Monitor. At the end of the installation, Chat Monitor will ask you if you want to update your software. Make sure to do the update.

If you have the CD, use that to re-install.

If you purchased from our website (www.netnanny.com), you can re-download the software from https://www.netnanny.com/account. You will need your order number and password or the last 5 digits of the credit card and the email address you used when you originally purchased the software. If you originally received an unlock key or serial number, you will need to enter that name/key or serial number once you install the software to unlock it. You can find your unlock name/key, or serial number from https://www.netnanny.com/account.

If you purchased a CD from a retail store, the serial number or unlock name/key are on the flap of the envelope that the CD came in.

If you purchased the software from a different web site, you will need to contact their customer service for another download.
