Facebook is Helping Prevent Suicide
Facebook has announced a new feature that allows users to notify Facebook when friends post potentially suicidal content. Facebook will then send an email to the individual, encouraging them to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or to start a chat session with a crisis worker. U. S. Surgeon General Regina M. Benjamin stated that “the latest research shows that suicide is preventable, suicidal behaviors are treatable, and the support of families, friends, and colleagues are critical protective factors. Suicide prevention needs to be addressed in the comprehensive, coordinated way outlined in the national strategy.”

County Judge Seemed Willing to Trade His Job for Pornography
Judge Joseph Polito of Will County, Illinois admitted to repeatedly using his courthouse PC for viewing hard-core pornography on the Internet. He also admits that despite knowing there was a policy against viewing pornography at work, he kept searching for it--even after being blocked by software designed to keep staff on-task.
