From Porn to Prison

"Quite honestly, your honor, (pornography) destroyed my soul," says Bradley Dean Freeze, a former fire agency captain of Kaysville, Utah. The Standard Examiner reports that he is now charged with one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child. The punishment for such a crime is 15 years in prison.

Driven by addiction to pornography, he acted out and abused a 14-year-old girl. He touched her inappropriately, forced her to touch him inappropriately and took pictures of her during the span of a year.

This man was trusted by his local community as a South Davis Metro Fire Agency captain. The grandparents of the girl were in utter shock. They claimed Freeze as a best friend of the family; he was someone they trusted.

The grandmother said at Freeze's court hearing, "This was a destruction of a family."

Freeze has a long history of sexual abuse and pornography addiction. He was sexually abused at a young age.  He pleaded guilty to the counts against him.

Judge Thomas L. Kay sentenced Freeze the 15 years in prison. He said, "On a court calendar with 40 to 50 cases, I would have had one sexual crime. But now, it's 40 to 50 cases on the calendar and 10 or 12 of those are sex crimes."

All defendants, in Judge Kay's experience, involved in sex crimes say that it started with pornography. "Pornography is as addictive, if not more, than drugs," Kay claims.

According to Kay, prison sentences are mandatory now thanks to legislators who believe in protecting children. "These are the most serious cases and in many instances, the sentences are longer than murder cases," Kay says.

If you suspect that someone in your family is struggling with a pornography addiction, I recommend installing an internet filter. It can save a soul from being destroyed and prevent horrible crimes like these.

If Freeze hadn't dabbled in pornography, he wouldn't have abused an innocent girl. Protect your family.
