Net Nanny indicates that the problem should be fixed in an upcoming release - perhaps by the end of Summer 2008. With that release when the Filter Setting for Pornography is set to Allow, Safe Search will be able to be disabled.

Net Nanny 6.0 is now released with the fix mentioned above.
