Why aren't all pop-up ads blocked by Ad-Free?

Category: Ad-Free

Print this record

Some websites use pop-ups to create site functionality other than advertisements. It is not always possible to determine which pop-ups are ads and which are standard site functions you may want to access. Ad-Free is designed to strike the most effective balance between stopping annoying ads and allowing websites to operate normally.

While a pop-up may not be completely blocked, it may be possible to eliminate the content of the pop-up window by adding its URL address from the Ad-Free log to the Ads/Spyware list and blocking it there.

To add the URL go to the Ads/Spyware screen, click Add, enter the URL, and click OK."
