Bing, Microsofts New Porn Search Engine

Thursday, June 4, 2009, 10:08 AM

Microsoft is in the news again with their new search engine, called Bing. Remember when Microsoft released its new Internet Explorer web browser? People called the new IE the “Porn Browser because it enabled easy access to explicit websites, and even allowed an easy way to cover one’s web surfing tracks.

Just so you’re clear, Net Nanny makes up for that web browser deficiency, by blocking inappropriate content, and recording ALL web browsing activity, including secure websites that other Internet filters can’t even see.

And this new Bing? Fox News reported that Technology blogger Loic Le Meur noticed the issue after testing video search on Bing. What he found was a cornucopia of pornography that he said transformed the search engine into its very own pornographic Web site. "You are now on a porn site without leaving Bing. Amazing," Le Meur wrote on his blog.

Well, Net Nanny already filters the inappropriate content found through Bing, and before Bing is even available in general release, Net Nanny will enforce Bing’s own Safe Search feature, keeping kids from surfing OR previewing pornographic videos.

As always, you and your kids are safe and sound with Net Nanny.
