BECAUSE THEY ARE TEENS. We dont let them drink, or drive, not because they cannot physically, but because they dont have the emotional maturity. SO DONT LET THEM ONTO THE INTERNET without supervision either! I mean really its a no brainer. The schools should simply get the kids to put them in their lockers. The smart parents should give their kids a flip phone only and monitor their internet use at home on the computer. Its so easy. Yet the marketing push of the gadget makers continues. The kids are turning into zombies. Unable to read faces they are of course unable to empathisise. The eyes are the windows to the soul and these kids are unable to read faces. We are breeding a dumber colder meaner group of children simply because as adults we dont have the self control or the strength of character just to say NO! and withold the smart phone until they are adults!
